Aquatica 3D-Coat, Maya, mental ray, Silo October 2012
In my latest tutorial for 3DWorld magazine, (issue 162) I look at adding surface and texture detail to a sea creature using 3DCoat and Maya. We also briefly see the creatures creation through the time lapse videos which also accompany this course.
With the creation of this scene I wanted to push myself further and play with subsurface scattering and lighting effects to achieve an underwater feel. I also wanted a more fully realised scene so I took the time to add in a basic coral background.
